VINTAGE MAKI-E

For the past two decades I have been privileged to handle some of the most beautiful and rarest of MAKI-E pens as well as cases and boxes, and even watches.

These are all Japanese motifs, done by the great MASTERS of the early Namiki (PILOT), Platinum and lesser known pen companies .

Interesting early pen signed IKKO Kiyose, but no KOKOKAI. Bird is flying over what looks like a cemetary, with branches in it's mouth

PILOT 1940's WAR TIME DUCK

During the war, the use of gold was limited to defense needs. As a result, Maki-e, instead of gold, was sprinkled silver dust.

The pen has chrome nib and clip.
